TRACE Talks is a new monthly series of artist talks hosted in the historic Mayor's Parlour at Devonport Guildhall.

Organised by TRACE Publications, the series brings together artists, photographers, publishers and creative practitioners from across the South West to share insights into their work, creative processes and careers.

Speaker: Gretchen Viehmann

Join us for an evening with photographer, illustrator and educator Gretchen Viehmann, whose career has spanned photography, publishing, illustration and visual storytelling.

Gretchen will discuss her creative practice, sharing how ideas develop, projects evolve and images come to life. Drawing on decades of experience across the creative industries, she will offer a fascinating insight into the realities of working as an artist and image-maker.

Having studied documentary film and animation at New York University, Gretchen has held senior roles including Head of Rights and Reproductions at the Museum of the City of New York, Director of Photography at both the New York Post and New York Daily News, and Chief Editor of Rex Features (now Shutterstock). She is currently Head of Documentary and Editorial Photography at Falmouth University.
